·        Alternatively, dissolve 5# sugar in 2 qt. hot water to dissolve.

·        Birds cannot digest table sugar.

·        Needs to be reapplied after rain.

·        Use L shape fence underground.

·        The L going away from the garden.

·        Bury 4” deep.

·        Above ground fence should be 3” high, leaving the last foot floppy so that the animal cannot climb over.

GENERAL INFO:

·        Eggs are generally a good animal repellant.

·        Always test a spray on plants to make sure the plant will not be damaged.

·        Start beans 3 weeks early inside to avoid bird and bug damage. Or cover with a floating row cover.

·        Floating row covers are a good way of avoiding bird and bug damage. Many bug problems can be avoided by growing under row covers.

·        For Caterpillars - 1 tablespoon of salt in 1 gal water (warm). Spray on early young plants. Salt keeps caterpillars from eating plants.

·        WHEN AN ANIMAL IS STARVING THEY WILL EAT ANYTHING!
